    This museum building was originally a school house built around 1855. The second floor was known as "Band Hall" and was used solely for band practice for 30 years until 1888. The building served as a school house for about 100 years. Now it houses the Historical Society's collection of artifacts, memoriabilia and displays.

    Route 91 to exit 16. Turn east onto Cherry St.  At light, turn left onto Homestead Ave. Entrance to HCC will be on your right. Park in visitor parking at top of the hill. Main entrance is by the flagpoles. Go down one flight of stairs. Donahue will be on your right. Frst door into the Library.  We are to the right of the Circulation Desk.

    Special Collections at the Jones Library houses extensive collections that focus on the history of Amherst and the surrounding Pioneer Valley.
    It is designed to be both a scholarly research center and a popular reading and exhibit space for the general public.

    Visitors come from around the world to view the library's Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost Exhibit Room. The library's Dickinson and Frost Collections are rich in original manuscripts, editions, and secondary research materials.

    The Leverett Historical Society includes the Field Family Museum and the Leverett Schoolhouse.The Leverett Family Museum includes antiques donated by Leverett families, the history of mills on Roaring Brook, and artifacts of the Beaman Frary Box Shop.  The museum also includes some works by folk artist, Erastus Salisbury Field who was a resident of Leverett.

    Home of Richard Salter Storrs, second minister of Longmeadow; built in 1786. The collection includes many artifacts from first minister Stephen Wiliams, aka "boy captive of Deerfield."

    Special and Annual Events: 

    Longmeadow Days are hosted annually on the second weekend in May. The Historical Society also hosts a Graveyard Event on the Friday before Halloween. Annual meeting is in October.
